Introduction
Welcome, students! Today we're going to start our math lesson with a fun and interactive activity called "Math Mingle."
Instructions
- Get up from your seats and move around the room.
- Introduce yourself to at least three other students.
- Ask them one math-related question (i.e. "What is your favorite math topic?" or "What have you found challenging in math recently?")
- Listen to their answer and respond with your own thoughts or experiences on the topic.
- Switch partners and repeat steps 2-4 until you have spoken with at least five different students.
Objectives
Through this activity, we aim to:
- Build a sense of community in our classroom
- Practice our social skills while discussing math topics
- Identify areas where we may need extra help or support in our math studies
- Set a positive tone for the rest of our lesson
