The objective of today's lesson is to introduce you to the concept of "To Have and To Be" and how to distinguish between the two when using English language.
Let's start by playing a game of "Would You Rather?"
I'll give you a few options and you have to choose which one you would rather have or be.
Here's an example: Would you rather have a big house or be a talented musician?
Now, I want you to think about what these two choices represent. Does having a big house mean that you will be happy? Does being a talented musician mean that you will have everything you need?
This brings us to the concept of "To Have and To Be."
We use "To Have" to talk about possessions - things that we own. For example, "I have a new bike."
We use "To Be" to talk about who we are as a person and how we feel. For example, "I am happy."
Today, we learned about "To Have and To Be" and how it affects our language. Next time, we'll be diving deeper into this topic and understanding how we can use it in different contexts.
