To introduce students to the numbers in Spanish through a creative and visual approach.
¡Hola chicos y chicas! Today, we are going to learn about Los numeros in Spanish. But, instead of just using boring old flashcards, we are going to learn how to count using colors!
Let's start with a little warm-up exercise. I'm going to say a number in Spanish and you have to shout out the color that represents that number. For example, if I say "cinco", you should shout out "rojo" because "cinco" means five and "rojo" means red. Ready?
Now that we've warmed up, let's start learning. In Spanish, the numbers are:
To help you remember these numbers, we are going to associate each of them with a different color. We are going to learn each number by drawing and coloring the corresponding number of objects in that color.
For example, we will draw and color one apple in the color "rojo" for "uno". Then we will draw and color two bananas in the color "amarillo" for "dos". And so on.
Now it's time for you to practice. I'm going to ask you to draw and color a specific number of objects in a specific color. For example, "cinco plátanos en el color amarillo" (five bananas in yellow). Once you're done, you can show your work to the class and shout out the corresponding number and color in Spanish.
Now that we've learned the numbers in Spanish, we can use them in everyday situations. We can count how many items we have, ask for the time or the date, and much more. Keep practicing and soon you will be a pro at counting in Spanish!
