Objective

To introduce the topic of the Causes of the American Revolution in an engaging and interactive manner that encourages critical thinking and collaboration among students.

Setup

Materials Needed:

Lesson Introduction

1. The Mystery Box Introduction (5 minutes)

Begin the lesson by placing the Mystery Box in front of the class. Gather the students' attention and tell them that inside this box are clues to a historical event that changed the course of a nation. Ask the students to guess what event it might be.

Encourage a few students to share thoughts or guesses. After a brief discussion, reveal that the clues lead to the Causes of the American Revolution.

2. Group Activity: Unboxing the Clues (15 minutes)

Divide the students into small groups (3-4 students each). Explain that they will be working together to “unbox” the clues. Each group will receive one sealed envelope from the Mystery Box.
