- Show the image of Medusa.
- Ask the pupils, “What do you see?” and write down their observations on the whiteboard.
We Do:
- Together, generate a list of vocabulary to describe Medusa (e.g., fearsome, monstrous, powerful).
You Do:
- In pairs, pupils will produce 2-3 sentences using the vocabulary collected. Encourage them to use descriptive language.

2. Review of Main and Subordinate Clauses (10 minutes)

I Do:
- Refresh pupils’ memories of main and subordinate clauses.
- Example sentence: “Even though she was terrifying, Medusa was once a beautiful woman.”
We Do:
- Identify the main clause: “Medusa was once a beautiful woman.”
- Identify the subordinate clause: “Even though she was terrifying.”
You Do:
- Provide ws with mixed sentences, and ask pupils to label them as main or subordinate clauses.

3. Introduction to Relative Clauses (15 minutes)

I Do:

- Together, turn a simple sentence into one with a relative clause.
- Example: Original - “Medusa was feared by many.” Changed - “Medusa, who was feared by many, was cursed.”

- Encourage students to turn 2-3 simple sentences into complex sentences using relative clauses.

4. Explore Text (10 minutes)

I Do:
