Bonjour, les enfants! Welcome to your French class today. I hope you're as excited as I am to learn all about this beautiful language. Today, we're going to start at the beginning: learning how to greet someone in French.
Let's start with a little warm-up activity. Can anyone tell me how to say "hello" in French? (Pause for answers from students). Great job! Now, let's practice together. I'll say "bonjour" and you repeat it back to me. (Say "bonjour" and have students repeat after you.)
Now that we know how to say "hello" in French, let's learn a few other greetings that are commonly used. (List or display on board: bonjour, bonsoir, salut). Repeat each one and have students repeat after you.
It's time to put our new knowledge to the test. I'm going to pair you up with a partner and I want you to practice greeting each other in French. You can use "bonjour" or any other French greeting we've learned so far. (Pair students up and give them a few minutes to practice).
Great job today, everyone! You've all done a fantastic job learning how to greet someone in French. Keep practicing and I'll see you all in our next French lesson. Au revoir!
