Procedure
- Begin the lesson by asking students if they have ever talked about the weather in Italian before. Elicit any vocabulary or expressions they may already know.
- Introduce the new weather vocabulary and expressions in Italian using the whiteboard and handouts. Practice pronunciation with the class.
- Use visual aids or real-life examples to provide context for the weather words and phrases.
- Model example sentences and encourage students to repeat after you. Practice using the new vocabulary and expressions in simple sentences.
- Have students practice describing the weather in pairs or small groups. Circulate around the room to provide support and feedback.
- Ask students to write 3-5 sentences describing the current weather in their town or city in their notebooks. Set a time limit of 5-7 minutes.
- Ask a few students to read their weather descriptions out loud to the class and provide feedback on pronunciation and grammar.
- Conclude by asking students to share any questions or challenges they encountered during the lesson.
Homework
Ask students to write or record a short weather report in Italian describing the weather in their town or city. Encourage them to use the vocabulary and expressions they learned in class. Assign a due date for the following week.
Assessment
Assessment will be based on student participation in class, accuracy in using the new weather vocabulary and expressions, and ability to complete the homework assignment.
