In this physical education class, we'll be discussing stress and how it affects us physically and mentally. We'll also be discussing ways to manage stress, specifically through physical activity.
In order to manage stress, we must first understand it. We'll define stress and discuss its physical and mental impacts on our bodies. We'll also talk about common sources of stress for students in Grade 8.
Next, we'll discuss the benefits of exercise in managing stress. We'll explain how exercise can reduce the physical symptoms of stress and release endorphins, which improve our mood and overall mental health.
In pairs, students will discuss how they currently manage stress and what physical activities they enjoy doing.
Finally, we'll demonstrate and practice a few stress-relieving exercises that students can do on their own. These exercises will focus on deep breathing, stretching, and other calming physical movements.
As a class, we'll reflect on what we've learned about stress and physical activity. We'll encourage students to continue practicing stress-relieving exercises and prioritize physical activity in their daily lives.
