Lesson Introduction: Woodwork Wonders

Welcome to the World of Wood!

Introduction (5 minutes)

Good morning, future woodworkers! Today, we are diving into the exciting world of woodwork, where creativity meets craftsmanship. Before we get started with our woodworking project, let’s spark your imagination!

The Mystery Box: A Creative Challenge (10 minutes)

To kick off our lesson, I have a special challenge for you! In front of the classroom, there is a mysterious box filled with various items related to woodwork. Inside this box, you will find different tools, wood samples, and even a few wooden objects.

Instructions:

  1. Form Groups: Divide yourselves into small groups of four.
  2. Explore the Box: One by one, each group will take turns to explore the contents of the box for 2 minutes.
  3. What Do You See? As you look through the items, think about the following questions:
    • What tools do you think are used for?
    • What types of wood can you identify?
    • What could we create using the items in this box?
  4. Share Your Ideas: After your exploration, each group will share one exciting idea for a wood project that we could work on together this term.

Wrap-Up (5 minutes)

Once each group has presented their project idea, we will vote on the most creative concept! Not only will this help us decide our first project, but it will also show how teamwork and imagination can lead to amazing creations.
