• The Ones lived in tiny apartments. There was room for one friend in each apartment.
• The Tens had big houses where ten friends could live together! Imagine a giant house full of ten!
• The Hundreds had even larger buildings that could fit one hundred friends all at once!

Let’s Build Our Tower!

Now, it’s time for you to help me build our Number Tower!

Materials Needed:

• Thousands of colorful blocks (you can use any small objects like Lego, counting bears, or even crumpled paper)

Steps:

1. Choose Your Blocks: Select ten small objects to represent your tens and place them in a big pile.
2. Gather Your Ones: Now, find 10 individual objects to represent your ones.
3. Build Your Tower:
   • Stack the ones blocks together to form the base of your tower.
   • On top of that, create a nice flat layer with the tens blocks.
4. Count Together: Now, let's see how many blocks we have in total. How many tens do we have? How many ones?

• What do you notice about the tower we built?
• How does building with tens and ones help us understand bigger numbers?
