Welcome, little mathematicians! Today, we’re going to begin our journey into the wonderful world of whole numbers. But instead of just talking about numbers, we’re going to go on a Number Hunt Adventure!
Imagine this: We are explorers in a magical forest where numbers come to life! Each tree has a number on it, and we need to find the mysterious number that will help us unlock a treasure chest filled with surprises.
Gather Your Treasure Maps: Each of you will receive a special treasure map that shows where different numbers are hidden around the classroom.
The Hunt: When I say “GO!”, you will have three minutes to find as many numbers as you can on your maps. Remember, you are looking for whole numbers from 1 to 10!

This exciting start will help us understand whole numbers while having a fantastic time together. Ready, set, find those numbers!
Note to teachers: Adapt the number hunt based on your classroom setting. You can use number flashcards, stickers, or even create a number trail with tape on the floor!
