- Whiteboard marker
- Student notebooks
- Pen/pencil
Procedures
- Greet the students and introduce the topic "Summer". Ask students to share what they know about summer and what they like to do during summer vacation.
- Introduce new vocabulary related to summer activities using pictures. Elicit the words from students and write them on the board.
- Model a sentence using the new vocabulary (e.g. "I love swimming in the pool during summer."). Ask students to identify the adjective in the sentence and explain its use.
- Ask students to work in pairs and try creating their own sentences using the new vocabulary and adjectives.
- Ask students to share one sentence they created with the class.
- Model a short paragraph about your summer experience. Write it on the board and read it aloud to the class.
- Ask students to write a short paragraph about their summer experience using the new vocabulary and adjectives. Provide feedback and suggestions as needed.
- Wrap up the lesson by reviewing the new vocabulary learned and ask students to share one thing they learned or enjoyed from the lesson.
Homework
Write a short paragraph about one of your favorite summer activities using the new vocabulary and adjectives learned in class. Be sure to include at least 3 sentences.
