Independent Practice (10 minutes)
- Distribute a blank piece of paper to each student.
- Ask the students to create a short story of their own, making sure to incorporate the elements discussed in the guided practice section.
- Give the students 7-10 minutes to work on their short story.
Conclusion (5 minutes)
- Ask for volunteers to share their short story and explain why they chose to include certain elements.
- Summarize the key points discussed in the lesson.
- Assign homework if appropriate.
Homework (Optional):
Ask the students to read a short story of their choice and identify the literary elements present, such as plot, conflict, characters, theme, and setting.
