By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:



Introduction (5 minutes)

  1. Greet the class and briefly introduce the topic of the lesson.
  2. Show pictures and/or videos of mosques and churches, and ask students if they recognize any of them.
  3. Ask students if they know the difference between a mosque and a church.

Class Discussion (10 minutes)

  1. Divide the class into groups of 4-5 students.
  2. Provide each group with chart paper and markers.
  3. Instruct them to compare and contrast mosques and churches by listing down their features and symbols.
  4. After 5 minutes, ask each group to present their list to the class.

Individual Work (10 minutes)

  1. Distribute handouts with pictures of mosques and churches.
  2. Ask students to identify the features and symbols of each, and to describe their significance to the followers of Islam and Christianity.
  3. Allow students to work individually for 5 minutes.
  4. Ask some students to share their answers with the class.

Conclusion (5 minutes)

  1. Summarize the similarities and differences between mosques and churches based on the class discussion and individual work.
  2. Ask students to reflect on what they have learned and how it is relevant to their understanding of different religions.
