Good morning, Year 1 students! Are you ready to start our Math lesson today? I am so excited to get started! Today, we will be learning about counting. Do you all know what counting means? Counting is when we say numbers one after another to find out how many things there are. We will be counting using shapes today!
By the end of our lesson today, you will be able to count up to 10 using shapes!
First, let's get familiar with the shapes we will be using today. We will be using circles, rectangles, and triangles.

Now, I am going to show you a picture with some shapes on it.

Let's count together how many shapes there are. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten! Great job, everyone!
Now, I am going to ask you to help me count how many circles are on the page. Can you do that for me?
Wow, you guys did an amazing job counting with shapes today! We counted up to 10 and you were all so good at it. I am very proud of all of you! Keep practicing counting with shapes and you will be Math experts in no time!
