Welcome back to our personal development class today! In this lesson, we will be discussing a very important and often overlooked topic - Mental Health.
To start off our lesson today, I want you to close your eyes, take a deep breath, and think about your favorite memory. Maybe it's a moment you spent with family or friends, achieving a personal goal, or even just a peaceful moment alone. Allow yourself to fully immerse in that memory, and notice how it makes you feel.
Now, I want you to think about a time when you were feeling overwhelmed or stressed out. Maybe it was due to school work, family issues, or other factors. How did that make you feel?
Let's take a moment to share with someone next to you how you felt during both exercises.
As we just experienced, both positive and negative experiences can impact our mental health. Mental health is defined as our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act in our daily lives.
It's important to note that mental health is just as important as physical health, and we need to take care of both. Just as we exercise to keep our bodies healthy, we also need to practice mental wellness to take care of our minds.
Today, we've introduced the concept of mental health and why it matters. In our next class, we will dive deeper into how we can take care of our mental health, and why it is crucial for our overall well-being.
