Welcome to today's lesson on London! In this lesson, we will be learning about the main attractions in the city and new vocabulary related to the topic.
First, let's quickly check the homework from the previous lesson. Please take out your homework and I will go around the classroom to check it. Moving on to our lesson...
Let's start with an introduction to London. London is the capital city of England and a major tourist destination. It is a city full of history, culture, and entertainment.
Please take a look at these pictures and videos I have here of the main attractions in the city: the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, the Tower Bridge, and so on.
Now, we will go over some new vocabulary related to the topic of London. Please take out the handouts I have given you. Each of you will work independently to define the words on the handout.
Next up, let's quiz each other on the new vocabulary. Please get into pairs and take turns asking each other the definitions of the words.
It's time for a group task! Please get into groups of four. Each group will work together to create a brochure about London. Each student will have a specific role in the task, such as designing the brochure, writing the text, and gathering the images. You have 7 minutes to complete the task.
Now, each group will present their brochure to the class. Please take turns presenting and talking about your brochure. I will ask some questions to assess your knowledge of the topic.
Before we end class, I would like to assign some homework related to the topic of today's lesson. Please check the board at the front of the class for the assignment.
That's the end of our lesson, thank you for participating and see you next time!
