Good morning, class! Today, we're going to dive into a fascinating topic that connects us all through music, news, and stories—Radios! Have you ever listened to a song or a show on the radio? Well, radios come in two main types: AM and FM.
Before we get into the details of how AM and FM work, let’s have a little fun! Here’s what we’re going to do:

Now, can you see how sound travels? Just like the way you guessed the tune, radios also pick up sounds and let us listen to them. But they do it with something called waves!
AM (Amplitude Modulation): This type of radio changes the strength, or amplitude, of the sound waves to send information.
FM (Frequency Modulation): This type changes the frequency, or how fast the waves go up and down, to send clearer sounds.
Did you know that the first radios were used more than 100 years ago? People could hear music and news long before they had TVs or the internet!
Now that we’ve warmed up our listening skills, let’s learn more about how these two types of radios work, how they differ, and how they impact our everyday lives. Are you excited? Let’s tune in! 🎧
By engaging students with a hands-on sound activity, you not only pique their interest but also introduce concepts related to AM and FM radios in a fun and interactive way.
