Lesson Introduction: Eat Well

Welcome to Your Culinary Adventure!

🌟 Kickoff Activity: The Food Passport

To start our lesson on "Eat Well," we’re going to embark on a delightful journey around the world – all from our classroom! Each student will be provided with a "Food Passport." This passport will be used to explore various cuisines, key ingredients, and the nutritional benefits of eating well.

🎤 Instructions:

  1. Passport Creation: Use an A5 piece of card to create your Food Passport. Decorate the front with a title, your name, and any food-related stickers or drawings.
  2. Destination Choices: On the inside of your passport, write the names of three countries you would like to visit. Think about different cuisines you enjoy or are curious about!
  3. Research & Exploration:
    • Country 1: Find one healthy traditional dish from that country. Write down the ingredients and why it's considered nutritious.
    • Country 2: Identify a popular street food item. How can this dish be made healthier?
    • Country 3: Choose a dish that includes one of your favourite vegetables. Explain its health benefits and its role in that country’s diet.

📚 Objective:

By the end of this lesson, you will not only enhance your understanding of diverse culinary practices but also learn about the importance of nutrition in those cultures. Understanding how to "Eat Well" will equip you with the knowledge to make healthier choices in your own meals!

🌍 Get Ready to Explore!

Gather your supplies, and let’s begin our culinary journey! Remember, your passport is not just a piece of card; it’s your ticket to discovering the world of food!
