Course Description
This six-lesson course is designed to introduce Year/Grade 9 students to basic German dialogues. Students will learn how to greet people, introduce themselves and others, talk about their hobbies and interests, ask for directions, and order food in German. The course will be taught in an interactive and engaging way, using role-plays, listening exercises, and group discussions.
Lesson 1: Greetings and Introductions
Objectives:
- Students will be able to greet people in German
- Students will be able to introduce themselves and others
- Students will be able to say goodbye in German
Modules:
- Vocabulary: common German greetings and farewells
- Grammar: basic sentence structures for introducing oneself and others
- Role-play: practicing greetings and introductions in pairs
Lesson 2: Everyday Conversations
Objectives:
- Students will be able to ask and answer basic questions in German
- Students will be able to talk about their hobbies and interests
- Students will be able to express likes and dislikes in German
Modules:
- Vocabulary: common German expressions for asking and answering questions
- Grammar: using the verb "haben" to talk about hobbies and interests
- Listening exercise: listening to a German conversation and answering questions
- Group discussion: sharing hobbies and interests in German
Lesson 3: Directions
Objectives:
- Students will be able to ask for and give directions in German
- Students will be able to use common German prepositions

- Role-play: giving and receiving directions in pairs
Lesson 4: Food and Drink

- Students will be able to order food and drink in a German restaurant
- Students will be able to use common German food and drink vocabulary

- Grammar: using "möchte" to order food and drink
- Listening exercise: listening to a German restaurant dialogue and ordering food in pairs
Lesson 5: At the Market
Objectives:
- Students will be able to shop for food at a German market
- Students will be able to use common German vocabulary related to food

- Vocabulary: common German vocabulary related to shopping for food
- Grammar: using the nominative and accusative cases in German
- Role-play: shopping for food at a German market in pairs
Lesson 6: Review and Assessment
Objectives:
- Students will review all the topics covered in the course
- Students will be assessed on their ability to use basic German dialogues
