Introduction

Good morning, class! 🌟 Today, we’re going to embark on an exciting adventure in the magical land of Vowel Team Valley! Vowel teams are two vowels working together to make a special sound! Are you ready to discover how they can make words super fun? Let’s put on our explorer hats and get started! 🎩✨

The Vowel Teams Map

Before we begin our adventure, let’s look at our Vowel Teams Map.

• ai (as in rain)
• ea (as in beach)
• oo (as in moon)
• oi (as in boil)
• au (as in caught)

I’ll show you our map where we can see each vowel team represented with a colorful drawing!

Adventure Challenge

Treasure Hunt!

Now that you know the vowel teams, it’s time for a Treasure Hunt! I will hide special vowel team words around the classroom. Each time you find a word, shout it out loud and tell us what vowel team it is using our maps!

Example:

• If you find the word “rain”, you would say, “I found rain! It has the vowel team ai!”

Wrapping Up

Once all the words have been found, we’ll gather together and share our treasures! We can also create a story using some of the words we found. Let’s remember, every time we use vowel team words, we are making our reading and writing sparkle! 🌈
