Welcome to today’s lesson on Time and Duration! To kick things off, we're going to play a quick interactive game that will get you thinking about time in a fun and engaging way.
You will work in pairs to solve a series of time-related challenges and riddles. The first team to finish will earn special 'Time Traveller' badges!
Form Pairs: Find a classmate, and make sure you’re seated together.
Challenge Cards: Each pair will receive a set of Time Challenge Cards. Each card has a different time scenario or question, for example:
Solve Together: Work together to solve the problems on the cards. Write down your answers on a piece of paper.
Time's Up! After 10 minutes, we’ll come back together as a class, and each pair will share one of their favourite challenges and the answer they found.
The first pair to complete all their challenges correctly will receive a small prize – perhaps a fun mathematical puzzle or a sticker!
Once everyone has had a chance to present their challenges, we’ll dive deeper into how to calculate time and duration effectively. We'll look at converting different time formats, understanding 12-hour and 24-hour clocks, and much more!
Are you ready to become time travellers? Remember, every second counts! 🕒
