¡Hola, pequeños exploradores! Welcome to the World of Numbers!

Objective:

Today, we are going to embark on an exciting journey to discover the magical world of números (numbers)! Are you ready to count and have fun?

The Starting Adventure: "The Number Treasure Hunt!"

Warm-Up Activity: The Magic Number Song

Let’s begin our lesson with a catchy song! Sing along to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”:

Uno, dos, tres, so bright,
Count with me, it feels so right!
Cuatro, cinco, seis, let’s go,
Numbers everywhere, we’ll learn and grow!
Siete, ocho, nueve too,
Counting numbers, just me and you!
Diez, veinte, let’s all cheer,
Learning numbers, our fun is here!

Encourage the children to clap their hands or stomp their feet as they sing along!

Story Time: "The Lost Number"

Now, let's gather around for a short story!

Once upon a time, there was a little number named Uno (1). He loved to play with his friends but one day, all the other numbers disappeared! He decided to go on a treasure hunt to find them.

Can you help me count how many numbers Uno meets on his adventure?

  1. When we shout "¡Hola!" to Uno, we start with 1.
  2. Then, he finds Dos (2) hiding behind a tree.
  3. Next, he meets Tres (3) jumping in the flowers.
  4. And then, he spots Cuatro (4) splashing in a puddle.

Count Together:

Let’s count the numbers together as we help Uno find his friends!

How many friends did Uno find? (Pause and let the children respond.)

That's right! He met four friends! So, 1 + 4 = 5!

Craft Activity: Number Friends

Now, let’s get creative!

  1. Materials Needed:

    • Colored paper
    • Crayons or markers
    • Scissors (for teacher use)
    • Glue
  2. Instructions:

    • Each child will pick a number between 1 and 4.
    • Draw that number on a piece of colored paper.
    • Decorate your number with crayons, stickers, or whatever inspires you!
    • Later, we’ll glue them together to create our “Number Friends Wall.”

Closing Circle: Share and Review

As we finish our activities, let’s sit in a circle and share our creations.

Wrap up the lesson by singing our number song again and encouraging them to practice counting at home.

Goodbye, Adventurers!

Today, we went on a fantastic counting adventure! Remember, every number is special, just like each of you. Until next time, keep exploring the world of numbers! Adiós! 👋
