Before we dive into our lesson, I have a fun activity for you! Look around the classroom and find 3 different shapes. You can choose from:

• Circles
• Squares
• Triangles
• Rectangles

🕵️‍♀️ Shape Scavenger Hunt:

1. Find: Look for three different shapes in our classroom or outside on the playground.
2. Draw: When you find them, draw each shape in your journal.
3. Describe: Next to each drawing, write down what you found and where you saw it!

Example:

• Shape: Circle
• Where: On the clock
• Drawing: (You can draw a circle!)

Take about 5 minutes to look around, and when you’re finished, we’ll gather and share what we found!

Conclusion of the Activity

After our scavenger hunt, we will come together and share the shapes we found. This will lead us into our lesson on how shapes make up the world around us. We’ll explore how many sides they have, what they look like, and even create our own shapes with play dough!
