Hello, Year 1 friends! Today, we are going to start a super fun adventure all about friendship and the qualities of a good friend. Are you ready to learn about how to be the best friend you can be? Let's dive in!
To kick off our lesson, we are going to go on a special Friendship Treasure Hunt! Here’s how it works:
Grab Your Magnifying Glass: Pretend to hold a magnifying glass! We're going to look for clues about what makes a great friend.
Search High and Low: Look around the classroom or your imagination. What can you find that represents friendship? Is it someone sharing a toy? Is it helping others? Is it listening when your friend speaks?
Treasure Boxes: Each of you will be given a small "Treasure Box" (which could be a small paper box or an envelope).
As we discuss the qualities of a good friend, think of:
For each quality, draw or write something that represents it on a small piece of paper and place it in your Treasure Box.
After filling your Treasure Box, we’ll gather together to share what you found. You can say things like:
