To kick off our lesson on the days of the week, we're going to sing a lively song! Gather around and get ready to move to the beat. Here’s a little tune to help us remember our days:
(To the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"):
Days of the week, so much fun,
Monday, Tuesday, let's run!
Wednesday, Thursday, jump and play,
Friday's here, hooray, hooray!
Saturday, Sunday, time to rest,
These are the days we love the best!
Now that we’ve warmed up with our song, let’s create a giant Days of the Week Calendar together!
Materials:
Create the Calendar: We'll draw seven big boxes on the poster board, one for each day of the week. Together, we will label each box with the names of the days.
Decorate with Activities: As we discuss what we do on each day, we will add fun pictures to represent our activities (like going to the park on Saturday or reading at school on Tuesday).
Finally, after we finish our calendar, each of you will get a turn to share which day is your favourite and why. Let's celebrate the days of the week as we learn what makes each one special!
Remember, each day has something exciting to offer! Let’s jump into our lesson and enjoy exploring the wonderful world of days together!
