The Scenario

You are stranded on a deserted island. Luckily, you have a magical backpack that contains everything you need to start your very own business! However, there’s one catch: You must sell your products to the other stranded survivors to help everyone escape the island.

Group Activity

  1. Divide into Teams: Split into small groups of 4-5 students. Each group represents a team of survivors.

  2. Brainstorm Ideas: Take 5 minutes to brainstorm three unique products or services you could create to help your fellow survivors. Think about what they might need: food, shelter, entertainment?

  3. Create a Mini Business Plan: Using a simple template, sketch out a quick business plan that includes:

    • Business Name: What will you call your product or service?
    • Target Market: Who will buy your product? (your fellow survivors)
    • Unique Selling Proposition: What makes your product special?
    • Marketing Strategy: How will you convince others to buy your product?

  4. Present Your Ideas: After 15 minutes, each group will present their ideas to the class. You’ll have 2 minutes to explain your business and why it will succeed!
