The Mystery Box

What You Need:

• A box or a bag
• Several different art materials (e.g., crayons, markers, pasta, fabric scraps, shiny paper, sticks)

How It Works:

1. Gather Around: Gather in a circle around the Mystery Box.
2. Mystery Materials: One by one, each student will take turns reaching into the box and pulling out a surprise art material.
3. Guess and Share: After pulling out an item, the student will describe it to the class without telling us what it is. For example: "This is smooth and you can colour with it!" or "This feels rough and sparkly!"
4. Group Guessing: Everyone else will guess what the item is and discuss their favourite way to use it in art.
