G’day, Year 1! Today we are going to embark on an exciting adventure through the world of shapes! 🌟
To kick things off, let’s play a game called the Shape Hunt! Here’s how it works:
Get Ready: Look around your classroom or at home. Are you ready to become a shape explorer?
Find Shapes: Your mission is to find as many shapes as you can in your environment! You might spot circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, and even some 3D shapes like spheres and cubes.
Shape Collector: As you find each shape, use your super-duper shape detective skills to describe it!
After 5 minutes of exploring, we’ll come back together as a group. I want you to share your findings with your classmates. You can draw the shapes you found on the board or use your imaginations and create new shapes in your minds!
Once we’ve shared, we will get crafty! Each of you will create a Shape Collage using cut-out pictures from magazines or different coloured paper.
Remember, shapes are everywhere, and they are super fun! Are you ready to dive into our shape adventure? Let’s begin! 🎉
By starting with an engaging activity like the Shape Hunt, students will naturally get excited about the topic and become actively involved in their learning. Let the adventure begin!
