Today, we are going to embark on a magical adventure as we explore the wonderful realm of sight words! By the end of this lesson, you will be able to recognize and read a few important sight words that will help you in your reading journey.
To kick off our lesson, gather the children in a cozy circle and tell them the following story:
Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there was a mystical forest filled with the magical words of the world. This forest was called Sight Words Forest, and it was home to friendly little words that loved to help children read.
In this forest, the words "the," "and," and "is" danced together under the glittering sunlight. They were the special words that every brave reader needed to know! If a child could say them, they could unlock the secrets of books and stories!
One sunny morning, a curious little bunny named Benny decided he wanted to read a book about adventure. But, oh no! Benny had never met the sight words before. He hopped around the forest, meeting the sight words along the way.
Now, let’s turn our story into a fun activity!
