Lesson Structure
1. Introduction (5 minutes)
- Begin with a brief discussion about students' favourite sports.
- Elicit responses in English, then introduce the topic in Italian. Write key terms on the board, such as:

- Calcio (Football)
- Basket (Basketball)
- Pallavolo (Volleyball)
2. Vocabulary Introduction (10 minutes)
- Introduce vocabulary flashcards of different sports.
- Practise pronunciation as a class, focusing on clarity and accent.
- Pair students and have them quiz each other on the vocabulary by showing the pictures and asking for the Italian names.
3. Listening Activity (5 minutes)
- Play the audio clip of sports commentary.
- Ask students to listen for specific sports mentioned in the commentary.
- Following the audio, have a quick discussion where students share what they heard.
4. Speaking Activity (5 minutes)
- Organise students into small groups.
- Each group takes turns discussing their favourite sport in Italian using the vocabulary learned.
- Encourage them to use full sentences, such as:
- "Il mio sport preferito è il calcio." (My favourite sport is football.)
5. Wrap-Up and Reflection (5 minutes)
- Come back together as a class.
- Review the vocabulary learned during the lesson.
