To begin our lesson on hardware, let's start with a question. Raise your hand if you've ever thought about what makes up the computer you're using right now. What is the computer made up of? If you're like most people, you probably think of a screen, keyboard, and mouse. But have you ever wondered what's inside your computer that makes it work?
Today, we're going to be learning about the different types of hardware components that make up a computer system. Computers have come a long way since their inception. From huge mainframes that took up entire rooms, to laptops and smartphones that can fit in your pocket, the world of computing has been transformed by advancements in technology. But regardless of their size, all computers have the same basic components that allow them to function.
Now that we understand what hardware is and its importance in computing, we can appreciate our devices in a new light. The components inside our computers work together seamlessly to make our lives easier. In the following lessons, we'll go more in-depth with each of the hardware types and their functionalities.
