Introduction (5 mins): Begin the lesson by greeting the students in Spanish, using the phrases "¡Hola!" and "¿Cómo estás?" Explain to the students that today's lesson will focus on greetings and introductions in Spanish.
Presentation of Vocabulary (10 mins): On the whiteboard, introduce students to new vocabulary words and phrases related to greetings and introductions in Spanish. Include basic phrases such as "Buenos días," "Buenas tardes," "Buenas noches," "Adiós," and "Hasta luego." Explain the meaning of the words and provide examples. Have students read and repeat each new word or phrase out loud.
Practice Session (10 mins): Give each student a sheet of printed vocabulary words and phrases. Ask them to read and practice saying the greetings and introductions out loud. Walk around and monitor their pronunciation.
Role-Playing Exercise (5 mins): Divide students into pairs. Give each pair a card with different character names. Have them practice using the new vocabulary to introduce themselves and greet their partner by saying at least three different phrases.
Wrap-Up (5 mins): Recap the new vocabulary words and phrases covered in the lesson. Encourage students to continue practicing saying the words and phrases on their own time.
Monitor students during the practice and role-playing sessions to check for accurate pronunciation of the new vocabulary. Informally evaluate their performance and provide feedback where necessary.
