Today, we’re going to embark on a fun adventure to discover balance in art! Balance is all about how things are arranged or positioned, so they look and feel just right. Are you ready? Let’s get started!
To kick things off, let’s gather in our cozy circle time area. I have a special story to share with you! This is no ordinary story; it involves a wobbly bird named Benny and his colorful friend, Rosie the Rainbow.
Once upon a time in a bright, cheerful forest, there lived a bird named Benny. Benny loved to fly high in the sky, but there was one little problem: he was a bit wobbly! He would tip and tilt when he flew, and sometimes he'd almost fall!
One sunny day, Benny met Rosie, a beautiful rainbow who painted the sky with her colors. "Benny," Rosie said, "you need to find your balance to soar through the skies!"
Benny was curious. "But how do I find my balance?" he asked. Rosie smiled and said, "Let’s play a game! We’ll use colorful objects to create a balanced scene, and you’ll learn to balance yourself, too!"
Together, they gathered colorful leaves, pebbles, and flowers. They discovered that when things were evenly spread out, Benny felt steady and lighter in the sky!
And so, with a little help from Rosie, Benny learned the magical secret of balance!
After the story, we can discuss these questions:
Now, let’s move to our art station where we will have our Balance Experiment! We’ll create our own balance art using:

At the end of our art activity, we'll share our creations and talk about how we achieved balance in our artwork. Remember, just like Benny the bird, art can be magical when we find our balance!
By using storytelling and hands-on activities, we can help preschoolers understand the concept of balance in a fun and engaging way. Let’s get creative!
