Today, our mission is to help the numbers find their flowers! Each flower has a certain number of petals, and we need to count how many petals each number can collect. As we explore the garden, we will count petals together and discover the magic of number sense!
Materials Needed:
Tell the Story: Begin by recounting the story of the Number Garden to the children. Get them excited about joining the numbers on their mission.
Flower Hunt: Place the paper flowers around the classroom. Invite the children to go on a hunt to find as many flowers as they can.
Counting Together: Once all the flowers are collected in the big basket, gather together as a group. Let's look at each flower and count the petals! Start with the flower with the least petals and progress to the flower with the most.
Matching Numbers: After counting, help each child match the flower with the correct number card that represents how many petals they counted.
