Gather the children in a circle and introduce "The Magic Box". It could be a simple cardboard box or a colourful fabric bag. Explain that this box contains special items that can transform us into different characters or help us tell stories.
After everyone has shared their items, explain that each of these objects can lead to an exciting story or character.
To spark their imaginations, tell a short story that incorporates some of the items as characters or props. For instance:
"Once upon a time, in a magical forest, a brave little bird named Beaky wanted to help his friends. One day, he found a sparkling feather that could grant wishes. Alongside Sir Toy, a tiny knight, they embarked on a quest to find out what the wishes would bring..."
Transition into the drama activities by telling the children that they will have the chance to act out the adventure together. Encourage them to use their imagination to become the characters from the story and use their items in their scenes!
