Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Length, the wise Queen needed help to build a brand new playground for all the children. She called upon her bravest Length Wizards—our class—to help her! But first, we need to learn how to measure things properly.

The Princess’ Challenge

The Queen’s daughter, Princess Peri, wants to create the biggest and best imaginary playground, but she needs your help! She has a special challenge for us:

• Can you measure the length of the playground area she has chosen?
• And can you calculate how much fencing we’ll need to go all the way around it (the perimeter)?

As we discuss and learn about different lengths and how to find the perimeter of various shapes, you will gather clues and tools to complete Princess Peri's challenge!
