Good morning, class! Today, we’re going to embark on a fun adventure in our Mathematics lesson. Are you all ready to travel through time? We’re going to meet Ticky the Clock, who needs our help to tell the time!
Imagine that we have a magical clock named Ticky. Ticky isn’t just any clock; he has a special ability to take us on mini time-travels! But, he can only do this if we can help him read the time correctly.
Let’s gather around and listen closely!
"Once upon a time, in a land where numbers danced, Ticky the Clock woke up one sunny morning. He looked at his hands and realised something was wrong! His hands were pointing everywhere and didn’t know how to tell the time. Ticky wanted to go on adventures, but he needed our help. Can we help Ticky learn to tell time?"
Now, here’s the fun part!
Draw Your Own Clock: Everyone needs a piece of paper and some crayons. Let’s draw Ticky’s new clock face. Make sure to include all the numbers, and don’t forget to add in his little arms (the hour and minute hands)!
Time to Learn: Once we’ve made our clocks, we’ll learn how to tell time together. Can someone tell me what number it is when Ticky's hour hand is on 3 and the minute hand is on 12? That’s right, it’s 3 o’clock!
Ticky’s Time Rewind: We’ll play a game called "Ticky’s Time Rewind." I’ll say a time, and you can show me the time on your clock. Don’t worry; we will do this together!
At the end of the lesson, let’s share the adventures Ticky could go on if he learns to tell time. Would he visit the zoo, go for a picnic, or perhaps float among the stars?
Are you ready to set our clocks and help Ticky on his time-travel adventure? Let's get started!
