Good morning, everyone! How is everyone feeling today? I hope you’re ready for a fun adventure!
We are going to dive into two exciting stories today! But before we begin, can anyone tell me what a character is? (Pause for responses.) Yes, that’s right! Characters are the people or animals in our stories!
Now, let’s imagine that we can meet the characters from both stories and ask them about their adventures. What if we could visit them at their own magical lands? What do you think they might say?
Here’s a little sneak peek into our two stories:
In “The Big Red Barn,” our characters are friendly animals who live together and share the barn. They have some awesome adventures throughout the day.
In "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," we meet a little caterpillar who munches on all sorts of food as he grows and learns about the world.
Before we read, let’s think about a few questions:
After we read both stories, we’re going to create a fun chart to compare and contrast these two exciting characters' experiences! We’ll see what’s the same about their adventures and what’s different!
Let’s get ready for storytime! Open your ears and your hearts to these amazing characters, and let’s find out how their adventures unfold!
(Transition into reading the stories.)
