Today, we are diving into the exciting world of problem solving in computer science! To kick things off, let’s immerse ourselves in a fun and interactive activity: The Great Escape Room Challenge!
Imagine you and your friends are trapped in a magical digital escape room! To break free, you'll need to solve a series of fun and tricky puzzles that will require teamwork, creativity, and, of course, problem-solving skills.
Your escape room is filled with mysterious clues and riddles. Each puzzle you solve will unlock the door to the next clue. If you can solve all the puzzles, you will escape the room and become the ultimate problem solvers!
Divide into Small Teams: Form teams of 3-4 students to encourage collaboration.
Listen to the Challenge: I will present you with our first clue to solve. Pay close attention!
Brainstorming Time: Once the clue is revealed, take a few minutes as a team to brainstorm possible solutions. Think about the different approaches you could take to solve the puzzle.
Share Solutions: Each team will share their ideas for solving the problem. Let’s see the creative thinking in action!
Once every team has shared their solutions, we will discuss:
Let’s get started on The Great Escape Room Challenge and unlock your problem-solving potential. Who will be the first to escape? Let’s find out! 🏃♂️💨
By starting the lesson with an engaging activity like the Escape Room Challenge, students will not only learn about problem-solving but also develop teamwork skills and creativity—key components in the field of computer science!
