• A small box or bag
• Various plant-related items (e.g., seeds, leaves, flowers, soil, a magnifying glass)

Instructions:

1. Mystery Box Reveal: As the lesson begins, I will bring out a “Mystery Box” filled with several plant-related items.
2. Guessing Game: Without looking inside, each of you will take turns reaching into the box and feeling an item. Don’t peek! Use your sense of touch and imagination to share what you think the item could be.
3. Descriptive Drawing: Once everyone has had a turn, take a moment to sketch what you imagine the items are based solely on the feeling. What textures do you feel? Smooth, rough, prickly, or soft?
4. Group Discussion: After everyone has shared their guesses and drawings, we will discuss the importance of each item and how it relates to our study of plants.
