Good morning, class! Today, we are going on a Shape Adventure! 🗺️✨
But before we begin, I need you all to imagine something special. Picture yourself as a brave explorer in a magical land filled with all kinds of shapes. Some shapes will be friendly and help us, while others might be a bit shy. Our mission today is to find and identify these shapes.
Gather Around: First, let's gather around the magic carpet (a colourful mat) that will take us on our adventure! Sit cross-legged and ready to use your imagination.
Magic Shape Tools: Each of you has a magic shape magnifying glass (a simple cut-out from card) that will help you discover shapes around the classroom. When you look through it, it will make the shapes larger and more exciting!
Next, I'm going to give you some clues about different shapes. When I say a shape name, hold up your magic magnifying glass and see if you can spot that shape in our classroom!
Clue 1: I’m round like a wheel, and I have no corners. What shape am I? (Answer: Circle)
Clue 2: I have three sides and three corners. What shape am I? (Answer: Triangle)
Clue 3: I have four equal sides and four corners. I’m perfect for a table. What shape am I? (Answer: Square)
Make sure to look around carefully and use your imagination!
