G’day, little mathematicians! Today, we are going to explore the concept of length through some fun and engaging activities. Before we dive in, let’s start with an exciting story that will take us on a journey to discover how we measure length!
In a bright and sunny forest, a group of animal friends decided to have a race. There was a speedy rabbit, a slow but steady tortoise, a clever kangaroo, and a graceful emu. They all wanted to see who could get to the big, beautiful tree at the end of the meadow first.
As the animals prepared for the race, they started talking about how to measure the distance to the big tree.
Now, it’s your turn to help the animal friends! We will go outside to measure how long different things are!
After hearing the story and discussing it, we will split into groups. Each group will choose different objects around the playground to measure.
By the end of our lesson, we’ll all be length experts just like our animal friends, learning that measuring can be fun and helps us understand our world better. Are you ready? Let’s hop into the adventure of length!
