Here are three questions for your class discussion about handling anger. Each question is designed to help students think about their feelings and explore healthy ways to cope with anger.
Think about the things that make you feel angry. Is it when someone takes your toy, or when someone doesn't let you join a game? Can you share a time when you felt angry?
When you start to feel angry, what are some things you can do to calm down? Can you think of activities like taking deep breaths, counting to ten, or talking to a friend that might help?
Why is it important to talk about our feelings of anger? How can we tell a teacher, parent, or friend that we are feeling angry in a nice way? What are some words we can use to describe how we feel?
Feel free to encourage students to think of additional examples or ideas as they discuss!
