Lesson Start: Counting Fun in the Jungle

Introduction

Hello, little explorers! Today, we're going on a counting adventure in the jungle. Are you ready to meet some fantastic jungle animals and learn how to count? Let's get started!

The Jungle Countdown

1. Magic Jungle Background Music

Before we dive into our counting, let’s listen to some fun jungle music. Close your eyes and imagine you are walking through a lush green jungle filled with chirping birds and playful monkeys.

2. A Friendly Visit from Mr. Monkey

As the music plays, introduce Mr. Monkey, our counting guide.

“Hello, kids! I’m Mr. Monkey, and I’m here to help you count the amazing animals in my jungle. Can you all say 'Hello, Mr. Monkey?'”

Engaging Counting Activity

3. Animal Parade

Now, let’s go on an animal parade! I’m going to show you some pictures of animals, and together, we will count how many there are.

Animal #1: Monkeys

Show a picture of 3 monkeys swinging from trees.

“How many monkeys do you see?”

4. Repeat with Different Animals

Animal #2: Parrots

Show a picture of 5 colourful parrots.

Encourage the kids to count: “1, 2, 3, 4, 5! Five parrots!”

Wrapping Up the Adventure

5. Reflection

Ask the class, “What’s your favourite animal from our jungle parade? How many did we count today?”

6. Transition to the Lesson

“Now that we’ve met some of Mr. Monkey’s friends, it’s time to learn more about counting. Let’s grab our pencils and start counting together on paper!”

Let's make counting an exciting adventure just like our journey through the jungle! 🌟
