Welcome to today's lesson on personal development—a journey that each one of us embarks on to become the best version of ourselves! To kick off our session, let’s participate in an engaging activity that will help spark reflection and discussion.
This activity is designed to encourage self-reflection and to help students identify their strengths and areas for growth.
Visualisation (5 minutes)
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Picture yourself at the end of Year 12. Think about where you want to be—your achievements, personal qualities, and the skills you've developed. Imagine you’re packing your ‘personal backpack’ for your future journey.
Draw & List (10 minutes)
On your piece of paper, draw a simple backpack. Inside it, list at least five qualities, skills, or accomplishments you want to carry with you into the future. Use words or pictures—be creative!
Group Discussion (10 minutes)
Share your backpack with a partner or small group. Discuss why you chose those specific items and how they relate to your personal development goals.
Reflection (5 minutes)
Reflect on this question: How can you start packing these qualities and skills into your life right now? Write down one action step you can take this week to bring one of your desired items closer to reality.
This activity serves as a foundation for understanding personal development. Throughout today’s lesson, we will explore how each of you can unpack your talents and set goals that will support your personal journey and overall well-being. Let's get started!
