“I need to find the special treasures that add up to 10!” she exclaimed. “Can you help me discover the secret number bonds?”

Treasure Map Activity 🗺️

  1. Prepare the Treasure Map:

    • Hand out a simple treasure map on A4 paper with a big treasure chest drawn in the middle and the number "10" written inside.

  2. Decide Where to Explore:

    • Around the treasure chest, draw circles or smaller chests with numbers ranging from 0 to 10.

  3. Exploration Time!

    • As a class, let’s call out different combinations of numbers that can be paired together to reach the treasure!

    For example:

    • “If we take 6 shiny seashells, how many more do we need to reach 10?” (Children will respond with “4!”)
