Based on the collected data and analyzed in Table 3, this report summarizes teachers' assignment practices for continuous texts in Icelandic and English in different school levels, subjects, and frequencies.

Primary School Teachers in Icelandic

Primary school teachers assign continuous texts in Icelandic more frequently than secondary school teachers. Social studies and science teachers at this level assign continuous texts more often than language teachers. The most common assignments are either 2-3 a month or 2-4 a week, with a higher percentage for social studies and science teachers.

Primary School Teachers in English

A lower percentage of primary school language teachers assign continuous texts in English, compared to secondary school teachers. Nevertheless, a significant number of primary and secondary teachers never assign continuous texts in English in the classroom, with the highest percentage among secondary school science teachers.

Secondary School Teachers in Icelandic

Secondary school teachers assign continuous texts in Icelandic less often than primary school teachers. Language, social studies, and science teachers at this level regularly assign texts 2-3 times a month, with language teachers assigning more frequently than in primary schools.

Secondary School Teachers in English

Secondary school teachers assign continuous texts in English more often than primary school teachers, with language teachers assigning most frequently, followed by social studies and science teachers. However, a high percentage of secondary school teachers still never assign texts in English.

Overall, the findings suggest the need for more diverse and consistent assignment practices for continuous texts in Icelandic and English, especially among primary school teachers. Further investigation may shed more light on the reasons and barriers for teachers' assignment practices in different subjects and levels.
