Introduction: The Story Mystery

Objective:

Today, we’re going to embark on an exciting journey through the wonderful world of stories! Our goal is to enhance our reading comprehension skills.

Hook: The Story Box

To kick off our lesson, let’s start with a mystery. In front of you, you will see a special Story Box. Inside this box, there are different items that relate to popular stories we know and love!

Items:

• A small golden key
• A red apple
• A soft teddy bear
• A sparkling fairy wand

Activity: What Could It Be?

1. Guess the Story:

   • Instructions: Each student will take turns reaching into the Story Box and pulling out one item without showing it to the class. As you pull out an item, think about a story that might connect to it.
   • Example: If you pull out the golden key, you might think of Alice in Wonderland.

2. Share Your Thoughts:

   • After someone reveals their item, they will share their thoughts about which story it might represent and why they think so.
   • Encourage your friends to chime in with their ideas too!

Transition to Reading:

After we’ve had fun guessing the stories, we'll choose one of the popular tales represented by our items and read it together. As we read, remember to think about the key ideas, characters, and what the story is trying to tell us.
