Fun Phonics Adventure!

Introduction to the Lesson

Objective:

Today, we’re going to embark on a Phonics Adventure! By the end of our journey, you will be able to recognise and sound out some special letters and their sounds. Are you ready to go?

The Adventure Begins

Setting the Scene:

Gather around, little explorers! Imagine we are deep in a magical forest filled with friendly creatures who love to sing! These creatures have a special language made up of sounds from letters. We need your help to learn these sounds so we can talk to them!

Exploring the Magic Words:

  1. The Sound of "s" — Let’s meet Silly Snake! When we say the letter "S", it sounds like a snake sliding through the grass: “ssss.” Can you make the snake sound with me?

  2. The Sound of "a" — Now, let’s visit Annie Apple! When we say the letter “A”, we hear the sound: “aah.” Can we all pretend to take a big bite of an apple? “aah!”

  3. The Sound of "t" — Next, we will stop by Timmy Tiger! When we say the letter "T", it sounds like a tiny tap: “t-t-t.” Let’s tap our hands like Timmy!

Activity Time: The Magic Sound Game!

To bring our sounds to life, we are going to play a game! I will say a sound, and you will have to act out the matching animal or object.

Conclusion:

Wow, what an exciting adventure in phonics! You all did a fantastic job learning to sound out letters. Remember, just like our forest friends, each letter has its own special sound and story! Let’s keep practicing!

Transition:

Now that we’re experts in our sounds, let’s move on to reading some magical stories together, where we’ll find these sounds in words!

By framing the phonics lesson in a fun and engaging adventure, young learners will be excited and motivated to participate!
